We are doing the 2018 Ironman Wales  for our lovely mum Sheila Griffin and her late mum Elizabeth Ruby Brewster. Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and slowly this awful disease is taking her from us bit by bit. Watching her lose her personality, her ability to do everyday things for herself and unable to hold a conversation or say what she wants is just heart breaking. Thankfully she still does recognise us and her love and warmth shines through, she always has a smile and a cwtsh for us, but that twinkle has gone, we miss it so much. We are so so proud of her and how she is coping with the challenges that she deals with every minute of everyday.
